The event addresses environmental themes with other types of art, drawing and photography

As many already know, the 20th edition of the Environmental Film and Video Festival (Fica) started yesterday in the city of Goiás. The cinematographic program with a socio-environmental theme is certainly the star of the festival. However, it is also no secret that this is a multicultural and aggregating event. In addition to musical performances (one of the main shows is by Ana Carolina, who will perform this Saturday, 9th), there is also a multi-ethnic tent set up in Praça do Chafariz and also hosts artistic exhibitions, which complement the festival’s message with artistic eyes several.

Until the end of Fica, the photographic exhibition “Canada”, by Brazilian photographer, teacher, journalist, screenwriter, producer and filmmaker, Rosa Berardo, will also be on display at Quartel do XX. The artist, who is known for her work on culture, cultural identity, alterity, genders and ethnicities, in this show delves into Canadian flora and fauna, bringing stunning landscapes.

The exhibition has 30 photos and, in the compilation, Rosa Berardo also shares her vision of the Canadian landscape with Canadian photographer Gillian Lash. “I took these photographs last year, while I was participating in a training internship at UFG in the film field at Queens University. I lived on Buck Lake Lake, Ontario Province, where the photos were taken, for four months. Every day I went for a walk and found several animals, even bears, but I didn’t photograph them because I was scared (laughs)”, Rosa Berardo told Diário da Manhã.
